I did my bachelor's in law, then a master's in legal technology and artificial intelligence. Law was never really the plan. I wanted computer science, because I have always been more interested in how systems get built than in how they get argued about. Legal tech was how I bridged the two.
Tentres AI started when I worked out what that combination was actually worth. Deep familiarity with how regulated, process-heavy businesses really run, plus the technical side to design and build the fix. Very few people sit in both chairs, and once I saw that clearly there was no better use of the skills than putting them directly in front of the businesses that needed them.
That background is also why I work the way I do. A law degree trains you to read a process properly: who does what, in what order, and what breaks when someone skips a step. Most AI consultants start from the tools. I start from the process, because the tool is the easy part and choosing the wrong one is expensive.
What I did not expect was how much I would enjoy it. I took this on because the skills lined up. I have kept going because it turns out this is the work I actually want to be doing, and I did not know that about myself until I started.
